To my taste, mango makes the best chutney. But the taste and texture of Neera's pear chutney proves that second best is still a best. The pear chutney has a "light" flavor in contrast to the mango chutney's "dark" flavor. The pear chutney can brighten the flavor of some foods (e.g., tuna salad) where the mango chutney would overshadow the flavor of those foods. The pear chutney is one of Neera's three best.
